15A - Figuring Out Buying Behavior No. 2

UF Freshman - Parker

Parker is a freshman who is self-proclaimed awful at trying to budget himself. There are apps that can help with budgeting, but he feels as though an app would not be able to help him with real-time problems that might come up. He also was worried about the price of purchasing the app. If there was to be a workshop/class, he'd rather it be in person but would purchase it online, or wherever it is most convenient. If he could correctly budget himself after purchasing and using my service, he believes it would have been a correct purchase.

UF Sophomore - Devin

Devin is a sophomore at UF who also needs a little bit of help budgeting. He has heard of other workshops that include help with budgeting, but they are not on campus. He also thinks doing it online would not be as effective as being there in person. As long as he can budget himself after the use of the service, he believes he would have made the right decision; if he couldn't budget himself, it would have been a wrongful purchase.

UF Senior - Jeremy

Jeremy is a senior at UF who has had learn how to budget on his own without any adequate form of help. The only forms of help he saw were online, and thus, not helpful. He is a physical learner, and would be best helped with something that is in-person and interactive. He believes that a workshop is ideal.

Summary and Conclusion

To conclude, my target segment seems to prefer an in person workshop, something that the school could run itself. They also believe it should be as cheap as possible. As long as it helps them budget, they would have a positive post-purchase evaluation.

  1. Hey Ozzie, I thought your post involved a great amount of analysis on your interviewee's. I think your product/service fits well around a student and college atmosphere. The workshop idea is something that was very important to help you understand in this assignment is what I got out of your post, and wanting to figure that out from your interviewee's looks like you succeeded in that aspect. Overall, you explained well in your summary of what you expect to be in the process of a positive post-purchase evaluation. Awesome job!

  2. Hi Ozzie,
I thought your post was great, I found each response very interesting. We have a similar project where we are focusing on mobile apps. It is imperative that we pay close attention to the pricing and the funding that we plan on receiving to keep the apps up to date and running. I thought your summary was very good because you highlighted that a workshop may be more desired as long as it is cost friendly, this makes sense for college students who need to be budget friendly.
